Stones Throw Records X Blank You Very Much

Here is your chance to create an official t-shirt for Stones Throw Records. Your challenge is to create a new design for the brand. You can use or reinterpret the label’s logo (which it has used for 17 years).  You can create a new logo, or you can go a completely new direction using a combination of new imagery and Stones Throw logo.

Please do not use any images of the artists’ faces from the label. No artist names or logos either. You can creatively incorporate physical objects loosely associated with the label (Quasimoto’s brick, PB Wolf’s hat, Dam-Funk’s glasses, Doom’s mask, Dilla’s donut, etc), but remember this is a Stones Throw shirt, not an artist tee.

And please remember that it is NOT NECESSARY to use any imagery or logos previously associated with the label.  Designs are limited to 4 Colors.

Download the asset files and submit your own unique take on Stones Throw Records. Please follow the BYVM Rules, Guidelines, and enter now for your chance to win the $500 Cash for the Judge's Choice Grand Prize Winner, and $250 or $100 StonesThrow.com Store Credit for the second and third place designs.  This contest will be judged by label founder/ DJ Peanut Butter Wolf.   Entries are open to global participants, you must be 18 years old or over to enter, you may enter as many designs as you like.

Those who try to pigeonhole Stones Throw Records' catalog are almost guaranteed to get it wrong. Even at Stones Throw's inception, DJ and label boss Peanut Butter Wolf (born Chris Manak) probably wouldn’t have guessed that a tiny hip-hop label born in the Bay Area a decade and a half ago could become a tastemaker, risk taker and archaeological site for genres that included shoegaze, soul and psychedelia. From innovative MCs and producers such as Madlib to retro-styled newcomers such as the Stepkids, no two artists here sound alike.  - Nate Jackson, LA Times, December 22, 2011  www.StonesThrow.com
